Some of the designs include the redesigned Flag Man, the Orange Dog Democrate and NetRoots Nation Flag. All merchandise is emblazoned with the Daily Kos logo. Items can be viewed and purchased at www.bluecollardistro.com.
The Daily Kos is the premier online political community with 2.5 million unique visitors per month and 250,000 registered users. It is at once a news organization, community, and activist hub. Among luminaries posting diaries on the site are President Jimmy Carter, Senator Barack Obama, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, and dozens of other senators, congressmen, and governors.
Buffalo Nickel Industries (BNI) was created by Ryan Red Corn and Joseph Brown Thunder in 2006 as a T-Shirt Screen Printing and Warehouse Distribution Business (PRESS & DISTRO) but has evolved and added another component of Creative Services (CREATE) that assists Small and Medium Businesses and non-profit organizations with telling their stories using the web.
We at the Nickel have taken it upon ourselves as a creative firm to walk the walk so to speak “Run the Run.” We’ve issued a health challenge to ourselves for the next 6 mos we are going to log our workouts as a creative team to see how far we can take this health movement in Indian Country. We’ve purchased Nike N7 running shoes for our team and will be giving out a custom “Outrun the Herd- 500 years/500 miles of healthy living” tshirts to all those that join our Team Stampede at the finish line and log 500 miles in 6 months.

Join the “Buffalo Nickel Stampede.” During creative sessions on a couple of national campaigns we came up with our own internal campaign. Team Stampede. We are taking our own intiative in developing a get healthy campaign. We as programmers, creatives and business people sit alot. We sit at our desks we sit at meetings we sit at conferences we sit while we eat and as we were coming up with ways to get people moving we realized we need to get ourselves moving.

I was in a meeting the other day with a huge healthcare conglomerate for an RFI and they just got done banging us up pretty good about what we didn’t do but then turned around and asked the question although cliche “What is the one thing you do the best?” It was like that moment in Karate Kid where all is lost and we’re getting ready for Johnni to send Daniel San home in a body bag. We let the music build up got into our Crane technique and got ready to bring this meeting home humming that song “Your the best” in my head. I stated simply “We listen.” From these two simple words I have built my business, my partnerships and my reputation. Without doing this one thing everything else would not have succeeded. Because by listening we learn what your group does, how it operates, what are it’s issues and the majority of the time listen to the solutions you already know but just need a little help clarifying. Listening ultimately, leads to good communication and communication is the number one issues for a failure of a project. Without this foundation I would not want to move forward with anyone or any group. I realized that we probabaly were not a good fit for this group but I had told them exactly what “we did the best.” Next time we’ll talk about listening to one another.
Come join us for the sixth annual National Indian Taco Championships in Pawhuska, Oklahoma, one block the Buffalo Nickel headquarters. Buffalo Nickel co-founder Ryan Red Corn, as well as Buffalo Nickel intern Bobby Wilson, and nationally renowned crazy faced Dallas Goldtooth will be on hand to emcee the event. This a real event. Not a joke people. So come join us all day Saturday May 15, 2010 for the $5000.00 in prize money to be given out for the BEST INDIAN TACO in the entire country, or world for that matter. Buffalo Nickel is a sponsor of this event. I have attached a youtube clip so you can have an idea of what to expect.

Commissioned by NACDI – Native American Community Development Institute the banner and site for the cultural corridor has been launched.
We are moving at the speed of light with all of our client roster in need of work from the team here at the Nickel. The days blurring into weeks and the weeks into months. I’m going to make a concerted effort to write updates to our site as will the rest of the team. We are currently working on 11 active campaigns and projects and will update this site as they finish. 2010 is shaping up to be our best year yet. Stay tuned.
Like the old adage “the entire village has shoes except for the cobbler’s children” working after hours which we seem to be doing on a constant basis we’ve now built our new site. We will be adding to this site with more information and posting our stories, news, events and insights for any of those that wish to know how crazy we think. Some of the things we’ve already done are pretty suspect.
